To improve air quality and protect public health, we were tasked with persuading people to switch from using regular coal and wood to low smoke fuels in domestic fires and stoves, a task made more challenging by rising energy prices brought on by the Ukraine war. Our solution was to develop a character with good reason to be concerned about cleaner air…A domestic pigeon, who as we know, tend to nest and hang about on domestic rooftops, placing them in close proximity to chimneys and thus more susceptible to the effects of chimney smoke.
