Strongbow - Grandad National
Briefed to create an activation for music festivals, in which participants earned their cider, we devised Grandad National where groups compete against each other to propel elderly gentlemen around a track to win a tray of cider.
How it works:
Teams propel their Grandad up lifts by netting basketballs. Netting the furthest hoop moves their Grandad 3 notches, while the nearest hoop just one notch. At the peak, a tray with a round of Strongbow pints slides on to the arms of the chair. They then have to continue throwing basketballs to bring their Grandad back down. First to cross the line wins the round of Strongbow for their team. The Grandads aren’t just passengers in this event. They act like the cox in a rowing team, shouting and motivating their team as they travel up the chairlift.
